A vital point in the function of a music video is promoting both the artist and the single and even in some cases the Album. I feel the most successful music video's are one which the editing is slick and there is a story behind the song. Music videos can also show the Artist's personally whether it is them being shy or contreversal for example Pop/R&B singer Christina Aguriela's video 'Dirrty' shows she is far from any shyness and loves the camera attention. The music video may even lure in new fans from the video which for them may create a new fan base, it can also tempt the target audience into buying concert ticket or tickets for events the Artist may be performing at which may be vital as Artist no longer depend on the sales of their CD's and rely on selling merchandise. Music videos can also be made to show more personal and Charity purposes for example the 'Just Stand Up' Charity song by ( Beyonce, Mary J Blige, Leona Lewis, Rihanna, Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield, Mariah ECT) can also be used to portray the artist as a kind loving human being who wants better for the World. This video was made to raise awarness to Cancer and telling the World to never give up, which I personally feel is a very inspirational video and portrays all the Artist in a positive nature.

Another video were I feel the Artist is showing that might be close to home and they have a personal relation to is 'Ed Shereen - The A Team' I feel this video is very emotional as it portrays the life of a young homeless girl growing up in the streets of London, how tough it is and the things she has to do to get buy to feed herself. I feel Ed Shereen has a connection to the feeling in this song as he express this throughout his lyrics for example 'sell love to another man and go mad for a couple grand' were I feel he is saying that we are all money motivated, but in this case the girl is even willing to sell her sexual assets just for money which Shereen feels is sad because she has nothing/nobody else to turn to or even rely on at that moment in time.
