Music videos are simply the video that goes along with a song. They are used as a way to cross-platform market for expanding an artist’s profile, as it is one of the only ways artists are highly recognised. Furthermore by creating a music video it raises a reaction from the audience which helps them remember the song (regardless of how good/bad it is). Lastly music videos can also be another way to platform other talents an artist may have such as acting and dancing which is highly seen throughout many videos by people such as Lady Gaga, Madonna, Beyonce etc. As well as platform talents 'behind the scenes' i.e many choreographers have become famous because of the famous dance routines they have created, an example of a well established choreographer through music videos is Laurie-Ann Gibson

The success of MTV has allowed to feature different programs and channels all over the world. The impact MTV has on artists are very big and once an artist has their video on any MTV channel, they feel like they have made it !
