- The process of a film being made, marketed and distributed
- The significance of particular camera shots and angles, i.e tilting a camera to show status and power
- Health and safety procedures when using the camera and filming. For example it is better to phone someone from the media faculty when there is a problem with the camera, rather than fiddling with it yourself
- Organisation skills and time management. Having to share a limited number of camera among over double the amount of media students meant that, we had to be organised, meet at correct times and have enough time for a 'team talk'. This is not only a skill learnt for media but to carry throughout my life
- Developed my basic knowledge of how to use MAC's
- Using software's such as Final Cut Pro, LiveType and Soundtrack Pro. Which were the three key software's for editing and adding sound to our film
- Learning how to use other software's and important buttons such as Handbreak, Quicktime Recorder, Importing and exporting clips and sound
- Adding special effects and titles
- Understanding the codes and conventions of a thriller opening i.e birds eye view of an isolated island, the times in which credits appear etc.
