The Skills Learnt During The Lip Sync.

In June we had a lip sync tutorial and were able to re-shoot a lip synced music video for the first time. I felt it was very useful as we got to see how our music videos may look with people singing the words. It was a hard task as we had only one lesson to complete the video and one lesson to edit which was very challenging. On the other hand it had a very positive outcome from my group as we had the lip sync intact with the song which was exciting. A few things I learnt whilst doing this task was, it is better off actually singing the words rather then miming because when sang you see the full expression on the artist's mouth. Another element I have learnt is that when filming to shoot the whole song from 4 different angles because then you have a variety of angles to choose from when editing and it is easier to jump cut in between different parts of the song. One thing that is vital for the artist during the lip sync is TIMING! as this perfects the introduction to the song.
