Skills Audit

This time last year, researching was about looking at other examples of thriller openings, analysing the forms of mise-en-scene that represented a specific of mixture of genres. Other forms of research that was carried out were looking at different camera shots and evaluating how different camera shots can convey a characteristic of the characters within the scene. Whilst researching camera skills, we also researched about lighting and how often (or little)it is used within thrillers and what made the camera and lighting so important to a scene and also, we researched different types of editing and different types of conventions within a thriller ( for example, reaserching our figuring out how to film a false plateau and make it effective. Forunately, we had an opportunity to make a false plateau and include it into our thriller.

In our thriller, we had realised that including a backing track for our thriller would be very important and something that was a main priority. We had conducted multiple drafts of how it would sound like by the research that was conducted for the thriller project. We listend to earry music, and researched how the stringy musc would help our thriller and create more of an effect. This was a task that my group took seriously and therfore, there is not much of a change this year as things are different.

As we are doing a music video, we know that music videos only last for 3-5 minutes long however, because it's objective is to be in an accordance to a song, it is much easier than relating it to somebody acting  and it is also important that a clear message to the audience to illustrate what is going on . By achieving this, we done a lot of test shots and had manys chances to practise (like doing our priliminary tasks).

Unlike last year where we had to make a thriller opening with a good storyline, this year we have to ensure that our music video relates to the type of artist and their preffered musc genre and also make it appealing to the target audience. This will help us create a succesful Digipak that will cater and appeal to our target audience as they are attracted to a specific pattern of type of design.

My group have already done our individual research on costume, performance and locations and shot types which will be presented soon in our pitch. The skills that I have developed since working with my group are organisation skills, being on time to lesson for the benefit of my group as well as myself. and have become more independent by being assigned to do one task instead of a group tackling a task at the same time.
