Devlin (real name : James Devlin)
Devlin is a UK Grime artist born and raised in one of the underprivileged areas in Essex, Dagenham. He is part of the Hag Fold Bad Boys alongside Mc Smalley, Deeperman and Syer Bars. Joining the grime entourage Outakers aka OT at the tender age of 13 and a half with crew-mates included, Dagenham MC Dogzilla, Deeperman and manager of OT Recordings, Michael Carnegie.
When Devlin was establishing himself in the early days of his career, it was obvious that is was one of the only white rappers in his time; this received attention for him in the underground scene and his skills of quick and fast lyrics were the content was the factor that generated a connection of interest for a huge amount of teens in that time period.
What I like about Devlin is that he describes himself growing up and how it was like in his songs and attaching a positive message to his audience. He is aware that the majority of his audience are teenagers so talking about going through tribulation’s to achieve a goal is what he delivers in his music and he does it well .
DJ Yasmin ( real name : Yasmin Zarine Shahmir)
DJ Yasmin is a is a British DJ and singer-songwriter. She is signed to record label Levels Entertainment, an imprint of Ministry of Sound beginning her career in October 2010. She began her musical career when she was seventeen moving to London, where she focused on DJing also balancing her feature on Devlin's second official single, "Runaway", for which Yasmin wrote and provided vocals for the chorus.
Apart from the music industry, Yasmin also maintains her website where she updates her fans (through her main official site, twitter and facebook) about upcoming gigs and whats happening in her daily life.
I think she is also a good role model for young teenagers as an upcoming fashion icon as she chooses to dress in a 'safe' manner yet very stylish and influencing to her peers.
