Kanye West & Jayz - OTIS

In this Music video by Jay-z and Kanye West the location stays the same throughout the whole duration of the music video. This is useful and effective as the process of making the video is not pro-longed as they are only filming in one section which makes it easier instead of having 5 different locations like scene in different music videos. On the other had this could be negative as the audience may get bored of just seeing the same location and want some variety as this is a very popular song reaching 18million+ views on YouTube. It looks like they planned the location for the video in advance as it suits the theme of the song which talks about there lifestyle and uses a lot of metaphorical language. The main prop used in the video is the Maybach which is used when the artist are driving around the warehouse, other tools are used as props when the artist walk towards the cars which is when you here the soulful chorus of 'Otis' which was originally sung by Otis Redding a soul legend in the 1960's. Also in the video we see the car windows and doors are removed and there are a few women in the backseat as the artists drive the car which is where we see the slow motion and close-up of the expression on the faces of the women which clearly shows they are enjoying themselves. Personally I feel this video is excellent as it shows the fun side of the 2 artists and how they played around with the idea of setting the whole song in one location which I felt was really smart.
