Reaction To RoughCut
Well, the rough cut we uploaded had a few problems which we sorted out straight after reviewing it on the blog and a numerous amount of things have been changed and you will see that in out final video. The negatives in the rough cut is that you hear the recorded footage voices in the video which we addressed immediately. Also in the video there are a minimal amount base tracks used which again was addressed when editing, we also felt in our rough cut there are a lack of camera shots and the video looks very static apart from the main narrative story line we I felt we portrayed well in our rough cut with the use of edits but I personally feel that can be tightened to perfection. On the positive side I feel the some of the edits that are used in the duration of that small clip are effective for example the use of additive dissolves and cross dissolves which are very effective when moving to and from the narrative. Early on in the clip as you see the whole narrative is fasted forward to show the argument but when it gets to a vital point in the story the whole clip is shown in slow motion to emphasize on what the performer played by Shazray has done and why it plays a big part in him leaving the house. The way we have edited the video is that video will go back and fourth from the narrative and to the performer (Me and Yasmin) on the fourth beat as it seems like an sort of explosion in the beat and we thought it was a perfect place to go back to the story with whilst you still have the Artist reciting the lyrics. In conclusion I feel the rough cut needs a lot of improvement and this will only be done if the group put in a real team effort to get this done before our deadline, I feel as a group 14 member we can do this to make our video the quality we want it to be before our deadline in the coming week. :)
