Filming Day 6
A huge success in my eyes as our previous day of filming did not go according to plan. Before our lesson of filming our group decided we were going to go out and film a few base tracks as we previously filmed a few so we felt it was vital we did that. We filmed again at the canal as the location was very close to our collage and we did not have enough time to travel elsewhere as it was a 3pm (ending at 5pm) lesson the lighting will soon be getting dark quicker as we are in the winter season. The 1st shot we got whilst filming was a medium close up base track which came out brilliantly we done this with the artist (myself) walking towards the camera in a normal fashion whilst reciting the lyrics.Shazray who was the camera felt that it was a hard job doing that as he done it handheld and did not want the shot to come out shakey, so for us to get the perfect shot is was done repetitively until he was satisfied and we as a group watched it through and liked the footage. I felt this was effective as I am moving throughout and with my hands signs I'm showing a lot of characteristics you would associate with a young teen whilst rapping along an instrumental which I felt definitely appealed to one of our strongest target audiences. We also got base tracks from the side which was a close up which was good because it showed an different angle of the rapper which still shows him reciting the lyrics. Another thing we filmed on this day was a man fishing in the canal which I felt was an unique idea as he is trying to pull in fish and be with them but in our music video it is the complete opposite, the male is trying to get away from the situation. So it shows two sides of the story wanting something and also wanting to get away from something. One problem that we had towards the end of filming was the lighting, we filmed a few base tracks on a platform we found in the canal and took some really good shots from different levels but then as we got back to edit them we saw the lighting was totally different to what we had before and was much darker so it was a shame we could not use that footage. All in all I was 100% happy with the teams effort that day and enjoyed rapping :)!
