The production stage of making the digipak

Stage 1: Choosing the photo
First part of every stage, is finalizing the photograph that will be on the front of the album. Choosing my favorite photo out of my shortlist was easy as most of them related to my initial idea from my pitch which was a close up of the artist.

This is the photo
Step 2: Importation
So, once chosen, i imported the photo into photoshop elements and then used the quick selection tool to highlight the edges. This will erase the background . After that, i inserted the picture into the panel template which already had the brick background layout. All that was need to be done was the text.

The original colour of the background was a little brighter but i went to image, adjustments and clicked on the hue/saturation tool to darken the colour and then turned the contrast down and finally made the background Sepia.
Step 3: Back panel and finishing
After this, i done the same thing with the back panel. I also imported the shadow of this photo:
To eliminate the background, i done used
the same method with the
quick selection tool
To create a shadow, i simply turned to opacity down to 10 and filled the photo in an off-grey colour. Making my back panel look like this:
So here is the complete front and back panel. I added
the track list, barcode and copywright information
alongside the record label.
It looks just like my mock up, however
professor d is situated
in the middle instead of the left-hand side
I thought that The artist name on the left hand side did not look as nice as i had initially thought it would turn out to be.
